13 best 24-hour restaurants & cafes in Singapore [Nov 2024 update]

A night of hard partying. Overslept and missed dinner. Studying or working late. Stomach with a mind of its own. In my experience, those are the most common reasons Singaporeans find themselves hunting for food in the middle of the night.

So, I burned the midnight oil to find the 13 best late night restaurants and cafes for when your stomach is growling at the moon. Here they are in no particular order (but with the reasons why they made my list).

1. 89.7FM Supper Club

Didn’t plan your chalet getaway well enough and ran out of food, huh? Popular also with the men of the nearby Commando camp, the 89.7 FM Supper Club is here to save the night! Their fare is as varied as can be and includes Western, Indian, Malay, zi char and seafood.

Grab a local dish with options like Bee Hoon Goreng Seafood (S$6.50/S$11/S$17), Fried Tang Hoon (S$7/S$12) and Seafood Noodle Soup (S$6.50). Alternatively, order some zi char to share—how does Stir Fry Scallop with Broccoli (S$25/S$35) or Shrimp Ball with Toufu (S$20/S$30/S$40) sound?

On top of that, there is a myriad of international dishes for you to pick from if you aren’t in the mood for anything Chinese. The options here are practically endless.

2. D’ Rubinah Restaurant Thai Muslim & Seafood

What the…? 40 types of prata and thosai? I didn’t even know they had that many in India, let alone at a 24-hour restaurant in Singapore. But there I was at D’ Rubinah Restaurant Thai Muslim & Seafood in Sembawang and spoiled for choice.

Talk about affordable, their Egg Thosai (S$3) seems to be immune to inflation. The Masala Thosai ($4.50) is good, too, and a 2-piece Plain Prata Kosong (S$3.20) will hardly put a dent in anyone’s wallet.

Of course, other non-prata options are available too, like Nasi Goreng Rubinah (S$12), Chicken Briyani (S$10) and Tandoori Chicken (S$8.50).

3. Enchanted Cafe The Fairytales Garden

The Fairytales Garden is Mosanco Enchanted Cafe’s only 24 hour outlet. They have a very similar vibe to the big coffee chains with bright lighting and made-for-laptopping furniture. The vibe here is urban chic and the menu plays along.

You will find the standard all-day brunch selections and one of my favourites is the simple but delicious Croissant with Stuffing (S$9.90). They also have dishes with Korean and Japanese twists. If you have the capacity, go for the gigantic Enchanted Mega Burger (S$25.90), stuffed with grilled chicken thigh, double cheese, scrambled eggs and turkey bacon, served with french fries, mixed salad and cherry tomatoes.

When you can’t decide between Chinese, North Indian, Malay and seafood, there’s always. Cafeela Roti Prata & Seafood Restaurant. Located at Jalan Kayu, they are pretty accessible for a middle-of-the-night but deliver all night across the island.

The Kuey Teow Goreng Thai (S$7), Satay Chicken (S$13.50 for 10 pieces), and Nasi Goreng Ayam (S$8.50) consistently make the favourites list of regular customers and for good reason.

Of course, you can get your prata fix here, with a Plain Prata coming in at S$1.70 and an Egg Prata costing S$2.70.

6. Joji’s Diner

24 hour eateries - jojis diner 2

I believe that everyone in Singapore should visit Joji’s Diner at least once in their lifetime. Why not drop by in the wee hours of the night to avoid the ungodly long queues? After all, they operate for 24 hours a day.

This American-style retro diner has become one of Singapore’s most talked about restaurants, and with good reason. The charming aesthetics and decoration make great photo backdrops, and the food doesn’t disappoint either.

Be sure to get the Chicken & Waffle (S$13.90), which combines a large piece of juicy fried chicken with a sweet, crispy waffle and an egg. I was surprised at how the chicken and the waffle came together nicely. If the sweet and savoury combo isn’t for you, go for the Smash Burger (S$14.50), containing 2 smashed patties, bacon, cheese, mustard, pickles, onions and a generous side of curly fries.

Don’t miss out on the Blueberry Pancakes (S$11.90), a stack of 2 fresh, thick American buttermilk pancakes served with homemade wild blueberry compote. This sweet treat could make for a nice breakfast, or a post-meal dessert when shared with friends.

Miss Saigon isn’t just an award-winning musical—it’s a Vietnamese restaurant in Orchard Plaza too! The quaint shop was opened by the founder of the highly popular Bánh Mì Saigon in Ang Mo Kio. 12. Coffeesmith

Fancy a very early (or really, really late) breakfast in the middle of the night? Coffeesmith is the place to be with popular European and Korean options, as well as beers and cocktail coffees.

The South Korean chain has 4 branches in Singapore, 3 of which are open 24 hours: Orchard Gateway on Orchard Road, Northpoint City in Yishun, and Westgate in Jurong East. My pick is Orchard Gateway branch for its central location and the best view.

Ever wanted to try alcoholic coffee? Coffeesmith has a selection of Cocktail Coffees priced at S$15.90 each to get you through the night, with options like the Draft Dutch Coffee Cocktail and Espresso Martini.

13. Shah Alam Restaurant

Floundering around near Boat Quay after a hard night of err… ummm…. Duck Tour-ing? Shah Alam Restaurant has been a tried and trusted transit point in the pre-dawn hours for over 20 years. Simple and unassuming, it is the best of the late night restaurants in the area if you want affordable Malay/Indian food. Some of the favourites you can’t go wrong with are the prata, briyani, and mee goreng.

Tuck into a delicious plate of Chicken Briyani (S$6), Nasi Goreng (S$4) or Butter Chicken (S$5.50) here. Alternatively, you could opt for the various pratas, including Egg & Onion Prata (S$2) and even Sardine Prata (S$4).
