Dr. Fang is an internationally recognized expert in the field of transcatheter valve therapies (TAVR-Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), and has a special interest in minimally invasive heart and lung surgeries.
He has been voted “Top Doctor” in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery by his physician peers as featured in Phoenix Magazine for 12 consecutive years. Dr. Fang is regarded as a national expert in the surgical treatment of Atrial Fibrillation. He is also credited as one of the first surgeons to perform a DaVinci robotic assisted heart surgery in the state of Arizona.
A board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon, he has practiced in Phoenix for nearly two decades. Dr. Fang is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix.
Dr. Fang earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his general surgery residency at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he was selected as the chief administrative resident. He then completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship training at Northwestern University in Chicago. He has board certifications by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, The American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
